Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS)
The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) is now a mandatory requirement in the UK, requiring all non-SME’s to undertake regular energy audits. If you employ more than 250 employees, or have a turnover of more than £38,937,777, and a balance sheet exceeding £33,486,489, you will need to undertake an ESOS Assessment.
When Do I Need To Act?
The date for assessing if your business fits the qualifying criteria is 31 December 2014. Compliance with ESOS is then expected by 5th December 2015.
Get started by arranging an ESOS Lead Assessor Consultation to identify the most appropriate compliance strategy for your business.
As well as developing a compliance plan, which fully conforms to ESOS requirements, we will identify appropriate milestones to ensure you stay on track to meet compliance by 5th December 2015.

How Can You Benefit?
Although the scheme is a mandatory requirement for large organisations, it is your choice whether you simply do the minimum to comply, or take the opportunity to turn a regulatory cost into business benefit.
Improve your business profitability and competitiveness by implementing the energy efficiency improvements identified in your ESOS assessment.
More Facts about the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme
The scheme is estimated to lead to £1.6bn net benefits to the UK
Energy audit data collated since December 2011 for other schemes (such as the Carbon Trust Standard, DECs) and Green Deal Assessments, could be eligible to be used as part of your ESOS energy audit.
ESOS energy audits must be carried out by, overseen/approved by, a recognised Lead Assessor
ESOS will consider an organisation’s entire energy usage including energy use per employee, buildings, transport, industrial, and commercial processes
It will be necessary to undertake a new assessment every four years
